What is stylish, airy and has a whole lotta wisdom and pizzazz?!? Simply’s OC Style Week, which took place Saturday, September 14th at the beautiful Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA. This ocean-side event was packed with everything fashion, beauty and lifestyle ... and to be honest we are still swooning from it.

While Foster Grant's larger-than-life sized sunnies were a show-stopper, it was the line of mirrors surrounded by huge feathers, that took our breath away!

With the first beauty panel kicking off at 1, we were able to shop and explore,
which led us right to Cosmocon, located in the heart of Neiman Marcus!

Okay, so Cosmocon?!? Yes. Absolutley A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! Sharing in the complementary love of nail services, eye lashes, brow bars, facials, hair blow outs, ice cream tacos and more, between that and the deals and freebies throughout the store, it was easy to get lost ...
though we were sure not to as we didn't want to miss a beat!

Kicking off the event was a Keynote Conversation with Vampire Diarie’s Kat Graham, moderated by Sarah Boyd. Covering topics from fashion, TV and social media, it was as empowering as it was inspiring. Much to our joy, our Editor-in-Chief, Cyndi Galley, was also invited to interview the tres stylish actress who has a bite for living her best life now ... and we're glad she did as Graham shared on the importance of "cutting out" the social media comparison-epidemic, and being true to yourself,
to which we said, "Yes and amen."

Another dynamic panel took place with Fashion Influeners––Cassydy Berliner, Gorjana Reidel, Lindsay Albanese and Lo VonRumpf. Moderated by Carly Steel, this savvy bunch of fashion experts shared several social media tips on best ways to navigate on various media platforms ... a goldmine, indeed!

This influential time was followed by a beauty panel featuring Christine Kong, Courtney Kerr, Joyce Bonelli and Olia Majd. Moderated by none other than Diana Madison, these girls were straight up honest and real about what it takes to bring the beauty on. Comfortable in their own skin, these beauties shared everything from skin products, to beauty faves (such as Ardell affordable lashes), to regimens that might not work out quite so well. Talking about their flaws as equally as they did their beauty-must-haves, they left us with great tips on how to keep your skin hydrated (with the use of essential oils and drinking a lot of water) and healthy (word has it that the new beauty trend is natural and healthy skin). Olia Majd is "obsessed with "Laura Mercier," Bonelli loves how La Mer makes her skin look and feel, and Courtney Kerr swears by "Skinceuticals," Estee Lauder's new "Radiant Doublewear," and use of collagens for the older-aged-beauties.
Focusing on the fact that most people are going more natural and bare, when it comes to makeup, these beauties were living testimonies and we couldn’t agree more. Another factor that made this panel exceptional? Each woman’s style on the stage was different; yet they all seemed to have the agenda––empowering others into loving who they are and not letting trends steer them away from their true selves. Friend of Fashioned, Christina Kong, reminded us that taking care of your skin is an investment ... and her skin is sheer evidence of that!
The Digital Marketing panel fueled by blogging and digital media gurus such as actress Becca Tobin, marketing expert, Brady Pham, Casey Goode, and model, Rocky Barnes, was as fun as it was informational. Moderated by Laurel Mintz, this panel we received gave great advice on how successful strategies in this digital/social world. Not only was this a colorful time, but we felt both, seen and resourced.
As the event came to a close, the final Keynote Conversation was with Ashlee Simpson-Ross and was moderated by our favorite E! News host, Carissa Culiner. Wearing an outfit on point from head-to-toe, Simpson-Ross' sleek glamorous look, coupled with her down-to-earth-attitude made her the perfect pick for the grand finale, giving us a glimpse into a world surrounded by Rosses and Simpsons. Ross shared practicals on what works as a celeb-mom so often on the go. Revealing that a "good London vibe," is a look she fancies, she gave us insight into fashion icons who've inspired her through the years, inclusive of Gwen Stefani, Debby Harry, and of course, Mother-in-Law, Diana Ross, who Simpson-Ross shared that she has gleaned so much from, in addition to her family.

An added treat was the sales, freebies, bites and more from participating stores at the Island, making these added bonuses a dream-come-true! Many of the stores gave great discounts to all who attended the event.
