Kalan's Financial Journey

Since its Tax Season and that involves money, we're going to be talking about money.

We are going to talk about Money, Tithing, and Offering.

Yes, we're going there. You either have a love or hate relationship with money.

We deal with money every day. We work for it, spend it, and give it away. Yet, Money is a sensitive subject.

Also, it is a common thing we fight about and argue, a huge reason for Divorce and Broken Relationships. It's a Spiritual Issue and a Heart Issue.

In the Fall 2019 Issue of Fashioned Magazine, our very own Kalan Jackson(KJ) shares her Financial Journey of how she paid off all her debts and how she sees money today. She took the Financial Peace University course before, but the second time she took it seriously, and she paid off $18k in 15 Months.

How did she do it?

First of all, what does the Bible say about money?

God does not want you to be in Debt.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

It's the love of money that corrupts the soul.
Money is not evil. It's what you do with it.  Money can ruin people yet in the right hands; it can do good.

As Gods people we Tithe, Tithing is an act of faith that helps us keep our priorities straight.

What is a Tithe?
A tithe is 10% of your income given to your local church.

Why Tithe?
The Bible tells us that tithing is a way to show that we trust God with our lives and our finances.

And Proverbs 3:9 (NKJV) says,
Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;

Kalan used Biblical Principles and Wise Council to combat debt and overcome financial debt to Financial Freedom and Peace. It's an inspiring story and doable. She asked for help. She faced her problem head-on and conquered it with God's help.
